Last of the calendar pages!  I still need a picture for December!  I didn't have enough Level 1 layouts for December so I just picked a layout out of the Reflections how-to book that had one photo on it and Did the layout on 4 of the calendars!  I used stickease from the Mistletoe (retired) paper pack to make embellishing easy!

Calendars - Continued!

You can tell from the July pictures that we had a great vacation!  This is a great way to keep track of birthdays and anniversaries too!  I printed our family's birthdays on return address labels to make it easy to put it on 6 calendars!

Family Calendar Tradition

A few years ago I started a tradition of sending our families calendars from Costco.  When I started with Close to My Heart, I thought I'll just make my calendars!   The first year I was planning on 4 calendars and ended up doing 6, guess how many I do now!

I changed to using Level 1 kits but the are discontinued now.

I am thinking about offering a class on calendars!  Anyone interested?  I think it would be 3 classes doing 4 month each time!  If you couldn't make the class you would be able to do the kit at home!  Let me know what you think!  More months to come!

Sonoma Workshop

Workshop rescheduled for December 16 at 6:30!  RSVP and pay by December 3!
I am working on improving my photography skills and this was not a winning situation!  Too much sun and wind(pardon the leaf on the bottom left!)!  However I think these pages speak for themselves, I love the elegance!

Use the beautiful Sonoma paper to create 2 two page layouts featuring the Mini-Medley accents Pewter collection!

The cost for the workshop is $15. All papers will be cut for you and you need only bring scissors, adhesive, glue dots and dimensional tape.

Sonoma Card Workshop

Join me on December 19 to work of some of your Christmas stress making the 4 fun cards!  We will use the new 6x6 Kraft cards, Beautiful Sonoma papers and the Mini-Medley Accents Colonial White Collection!

The class costs $10 and everything will be cut for you!  Bring scissors, adhesive, glue dots and dimensional tape (pop dots)!

Surprise a loved one with a beautiful card to show them how special they are!
Sign up and pay by December 3!

Stuffed Stockings

I got this idea from here!

I was looking for inexpensive teacher/coworker gifts and found these!  I filled them with coffee and creamer or tea and chocolate.

Studio J

In May we went to a birthday party and had lots of pictures and 2 albums to put it in!  So, I did them in Studio J!
I had a lot of fun with these pages, adding embellishments and stickease!

On this one above, I added a title where there wasn't one!

I deleted the title box on this one and added the stickease memories and stickease letters and circles and diamonds around the title!  I love how I can change things around and add or take away as I want!

I added the diamond on the circles and changed the background color to black!  I could have even recolored the whole page if I had wanted to!!

Have you tried Studio J yet?  It is FREE!  You never pay anything until you order prints or JPEGs!

Creative Frames with Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge

Using a $1 frame from Michael's I used Liquid Glass to adhere the Roxy paper.  Then I cut flowers using the Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge.  I used our tweezers to roll up the flowers and glue them with liquid glass!

Every Fireplace is a Stage and Yum!

Our house has the greatest fireplace for a stage and my kids use it regularly!  They were taking turns doing shows including dancing and singing!

The title is a variation of "All the World's a Stage" From Shakespeare's As You Like It.
 "All the world's a stage,
and all the men and women merely players
They have their exits and their entrances"...

Movies, songs and books are just a few great places to get scrap booking titles from!

The paper is Animal Cookies and it is starting to dwindle!

I had an odd spilt in my pages here so I tried to tied the two pages together using the Creative Basics Animal Cookies so same colors and different patterns!

My sweet Girl made oven fries out of her Pampered chef kids cookbook!  She loves to cook and try new recipes!

Dinner and a Show

My kids are pretty creative and have a lot of fun pretending together!  They had a little cafe set up and all their play food, with wait staff and everything!

I love the bright colors in Animal Cookies and miss it, however it is available on Studio J and there are never leftovers to figure out what to do with!

I frequently have trouble getting titles and journaling done!  So this layout has been done for a long time and I just did the title using the Cocktail stamp set and wrote the journaling!

What do you use to help you get title and journaling done?

Summer Fun!

Our friends have this great blow up water slide and while it is a pain to get out and set up, it provides hours of fun!  Our kids have been around each other since they were 2 months old, and they have twins too!  They play great together and us Moms get time to talk and relax a little!

I am using up leftovers and that is why there is only one background and texture paper and the rest is cardstock!  I love knowing that there is not anything left from that paper pack!  What paper pack is well, I can't remember!  It might be Laid Back!    It is so fun using things up and not hanging on to my stash!

Sofa Siblings

I love it when I catch my kids being nice and hanging out together!  I don's usually do a 2 page layout for 3 pictures but this worked better that way and I love it!  I used Lucky paper and the leftovers of  a Lucky level 2 assortment!

Like this paper, it is only around until January!  To order click here!

More McKenna Children's Museum

More pages from the McKenna Children's Museum!
Our kids enjoyed the outside as much as the inside!

Using red paper as the background really changed the look of the paper pack!

This pattern is one of my favorite! The circle paper is so elegant and fun!  The background paper on this is white so it looks a little odd, sorry!

I guess creativity runs in the family!
We had a whole stack of artwork to take home!

The page below was really fun to make because the Stickease really worked so well with the pictures!  I also was able to to use the arrow to point out what my son was doing and even journal on it!

My son, Joshua, waited a long time to get to wear the space helmet!  He was very cute!

I was also able to use Tinkerin', which was once of my favorite paper packs, which is now retired!

McKenna Children's Museum

We had some friends from Chicago visit in June and we went to the McKenna Children's Museum in New Braunfels.  They loved it and didn't want to leave!
One of their favorite things was this game that had lights on the floor that you had to avoid or step on depending on the game. I think they would have stayed in that spot all day if we had let them!

I am frequently doing pages in Studio J when I know that I will need multiple copies of the same pages/pictures.  I ended up making an album out of these pages and my friend also will get a copy!  How cool that I can make one album for me and just print one copy for my friend!  I will also include some of the pages in my kids albums so I will print at least one more copy for me!

I love the time saver that Studio J is for me!  I didn't have to print 4 sets of pictures, buy paper for 4 sets of layouts and find the time to do 4 sets of layouts!

If you are overwhelmed by the number of pictures you have to scrapbook or you just don't have any interest in scrap-booking but want to do something with your picture, check out Studio J.  It doesn't require creativity or any special skills except some basic computer skills!  It is FREE to try, no cost until you decide to print you pages!

Where have I been?

I hurt my back so I thought and was in a lot of pain.  I was doing what I had to do and nothing more.  Went to the doctor and was sent to the Physical Therapist.  I love PT's.  It seems that I actually had rotated one side of my pelvis and that was what was causing the pain!  It was amazing how quickly I felt better after the pelvis was back where it belonged!  Who knew!  I am still in some pain and have PT 3 times a week for about 1 1/2 hours, so I have neglected my blog!

I am very thankful that God blessed me with a fabulous husband who has helped a lot and kept the family going without complaining, even when I was not so fun to be around.

I will try to get pictures of the things I have done recently and get them up here!

In the meantime, Jeanette Lynton has been doing a shape a day this month from the Cricut Art Philosphy cartridge!  Check it out here!

Oh My, Blueberry Pie!

Micah is by far our messiest eater, so when we gave him blueberry pie, well, we took off his shirt! I knew it would be bad but it was just hilarious!  He was covered in blueberries and he loved the pie so much that he even ate his siblings' leftovers!  Good thing we were planning on a bath, he sure needed one!

From a scrapbooking perspective, I had a hard time figuring out what paper to use.  Blueberries aren't really blue but that is what I kept thinking.  SO when I saw the sweet home paper that combined the blue I was looking for with Vineyard Berry which was what color the berries actually were, I had to use it!  I really love the way it turned out!

Many Face of Joshua!

Joshua loves to pose for you especially if you have a camera!  I took these pictures not really intending to do anything but throw them away!   He was so cute and I saw a sketch that used 2x2 pictures!   So, I printed all of them in wallet size and had a blast putting this page together!

I am still debating if I need to add a title on the squares or some journaling.

What do you think?  Leave it or add to it!?

Moustached Micah

We frequently go to a pizza place that had candy and toy machines.  My girls had been bringing their money and getting tattoos, so Micah remembered his money this day!  He got a fake moustache.  It was hilarious and he was so proud!

I used the banner that comes with the Milepost Shapes for the name and made a moustache out of the top of a lip on my cricut!  I tried to make the moustache look like it had hair using Cocoa ink and a blending pen!

I am still using up old stuff so the letters and paper are either retired or from a crafts store.

Harvest Happiness Gift Card

I shared this gift card with the wives at a Geophysicist Convention.  I used a envelope, Harvest Happiness stamp set, dimensional tape, natural hemp and several inks (Honey, Brown Bag, Olive, Cocoa, and Autumn Terracotta)

I started with the largest stamp I was using and used Honey ink and rock and rolled it with Autumn Terracotta. I then started filling in with the other smaller stamps.  Stamping in a triangle pattern helps the stamping look more planned!

I continued stamping on both sides of the envelope until I was happy with the look!

I cut out the scalloped oval to perfectly fit my sentiment using the exclusive Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge.  I stamped the sentiment using honey and rock and rolled in Autumn Terracotta.  Rock and roll is great because it gives the images more depth and dimension!  Watch a video on Rock and Roll here!

I also cut out a tag for the scalloped oval 1/4 inch bigger than the sentiment and used dimensional tape to pop up the sentiment on the tag!

I added the Natural Hemp through the holes in the tag...you could use ribbon or floss too!

Using the bone folder to get a great crease, I folded the envelop in half.

I adhered the sentiment to the front, making sure to keep the hemp fairly even and tying it on the side in a bow!

This is what it looks like open with a gift card in it!

The fun thing about this is you can use any extra envelopes you have a minimal other supplies to make a gift card for any purpose or season just by changing the stamps and sentiments!

Show me the gift card holder you make by clicking on the linky below!
