Moustached Micah

We frequently go to a pizza place that had candy and toy machines.  My girls had been bringing their money and getting tattoos, so Micah remembered his money this day!  He got a fake moustache.  It was hilarious and he was so proud!

I used the banner that comes with the Milepost Shapes for the name and made a moustache out of the top of a lip on my cricut!  I tried to make the moustache look like it had hair using Cocoa ink and a blending pen!

I am still using up old stuff so the letters and paper are either retired or from a crafts store.

Harvest Happiness Gift Card

I shared this gift card with the wives at a Geophysicist Convention.  I used a envelope, Harvest Happiness stamp set, dimensional tape, natural hemp and several inks (Honey, Brown Bag, Olive, Cocoa, and Autumn Terracotta)

I started with the largest stamp I was using and used Honey ink and rock and rolled it with Autumn Terracotta. I then started filling in with the other smaller stamps.  Stamping in a triangle pattern helps the stamping look more planned!

I continued stamping on both sides of the envelope until I was happy with the look!

I cut out the scalloped oval to perfectly fit my sentiment using the exclusive Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge.  I stamped the sentiment using honey and rock and rolled in Autumn Terracotta.  Rock and roll is great because it gives the images more depth and dimension!  Watch a video on Rock and Roll here!

I also cut out a tag for the scalloped oval 1/4 inch bigger than the sentiment and used dimensional tape to pop up the sentiment on the tag!

I added the Natural Hemp through the holes in the could use ribbon or floss too!

Using the bone folder to get a great crease, I folded the envelop in half.

I adhered the sentiment to the front, making sure to keep the hemp fairly even and tying it on the side in a bow!

This is what it looks like open with a gift card in it!

The fun thing about this is you can use any extra envelopes you have a minimal other supplies to make a gift card for any purpose or season just by changing the stamps and sentiments!

Growing Fast!

At the CTMH convention this year, they announced the paper changes and the why.  One of the significant whys was that they want us to consume paper not collect it!  Well, I am working on my collection, so many of my posts will have retired papers and products on it!  On this layout I used Sweetheart paper, sparkle circle and ribbon which are retired, but the cute butterfly and the sparkle (not the circle) are in the current Idea Book!

Can you guess why I think they are growing up so fast!?

Mischief Workshop

Mischief Workshop
October 21 at 12:00 pm or 7:00 pm
Cost is $15
RSVP and pay by October 8

I really enjoy the kid part of Halloween!  They get so much joy out of dressing up and trick or treating!  My kids even made card and took them to the houses they were trick or treating at to share the joy!  You wouldn't believe the surprised faces we got on that one!  My other favorite part of Halloween is pumpkins!  This past year is the first time we have carved a pumpkin when the kids were old enough to be involved!  We have painted pumpkins the last few years!  It was fun capturing their involvement in photos and on couple scrapbook pages!
The Workshop is $15 and includes these 2 two page layouts! All you need to do is show up with adhesive, pop-dots, and scissors for the class, I will cut everything for you!

If you would prefer a more spooky Halloween-ish layout the rub ons we will use do lend themselves to that also! This layout below uses the other rub-ons!

Marshmallow Dreams

One day this summer the kids were driving me nuts so I pulled out a box of toothpicks and a bag of marshmallows and let them build!  They had a blast and might have eaten as much as they built!

I used Studio J to make this layout with the retired Splendor paper!  I really love this layout and the versitility of Studio J.  The journaling is in a box that is supposed to be a picture and the title is from the Stickease! It is great to be able to use a paper that is retired and have fun with it!

Do you think you wouldn't like online scrapbooking?  Give it a try!  It is free to use, you only pay when you buy a layout!

Family Wall Canvas

I have always wanted to do a canvas with scrapbooking stuff, but didn't know where to start.  So when I saw this, I had to scraplift it!

This is my canvas!  It uses the Elemental papers, the Harvest Happiness stamp set and Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge!

If you would be interested in making one leave me a comment and I will schedule a class!  It would probably be in October!

Check out my business facebook page I am looking for "Likes" so I can draw a name for goodies!

9/11 In Honor Of

In honor of the people who died on 911 and the servicemen/women that have served and still serve to protect our country.  I am collecting cards for the Cards4Heros .

If you have some extra cards floating around I will get them sent to Cards4Heros so that soldiers have nice cards to send to their loved ones while they are overseas.

If you don't have any cards I will have some ready for you to make and donate for free at my Friday night free crop on Sept. 16.

Let's remember those lost and honor those still serving!

Notebook Covers

The boys had to take notebooks to school and I wanted to make them special!  I used a layout from the Reflections how-to book, Hocus Pocus with a little alteration in width!

Sorry for the horrible pictures!  It was hard to get a good one with the glare from the notebooks!

This was a fun quick project that made such a difference to a boring notebook!

Don't forget if you want to sign up for the Typeset Mini-album class the deadline is Monday, September 12!

I also have an upcoming crop on September 16 at 6:30, please RSVP and bring a snack to share!

Butterfly Wishes

My daughter caught a butterfly and of course wanted to keep it!  Unfortunately it didn't survive the ants that got in the jar!  But I captured it in photos!  I used the Wishes paper pack and the cricut to make the butterflies!  I originally started with just the big one and wanted more color on the page.  I cut the Vineyard Berry butterfly but thought it wad too plain, so I cut the outline butterfly and put it over the top and inked it with black ink.  I love the effect!  Then I flipped over the outline and inked it with a little Vineyard Berry ink and pop dotted it and wrote the journaling on it!  I was very pleased with the outcome!

Mayberry Birthday!

OK, I will admit it, I am not a huge fan of Mayberry!  However, it was perfect for these pictures and I LOVE the way it came out!  It is fun bright and cheerful!
I used the how to book Imagine's layout, Conclusion Combo!  I really enjoy using our how to books!  They take a lot of the stress out of creative part of scrapbooking.  It helps you choose the paper combos and picture sizes and even has embellishments, you can copy!  Try them any time at one of my crops!

I did it!

My daughter, Lora had a hard time learning to tie her shoes last year!  Her Grandma spent quite a bit of time working with her one day until she got it!  Her little brother, Joshua, sat on the floor and tried to tie her other shoe!  It was so cute!
I used the Magic How-to book layout called Crystal Ball and My Reflections paper pack, Sophia!  The flowers and title were cut with the Cricut using the Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge available only from Close to My Heart!

I also used Opaques Pearl Adhesive Gems (Z1336) and retired Pear ribbon and buttons to dress it up a little!

Chef Sara

Sara got a cookbook for Christmas and wanted to try one of the recipes so we had breakfast tacos, which were a huge hit!  This is actually from a year ago!  It was nice to work on something during the day when everyone was at school!

I used the Magic layout called card trick and the retired Cherry-O paper and Stickease!  I also used up a few really old stickers!  I love how you can change a layout slightly by using a photo box as a journaling box or vice versa and it looks quite different!
