Scrapbook purse

Our favorite babysitter is getting married soon and she needed to make cards for her bridesmaids...all 12 of them!  She wanted to write a thank you note to them in it and then also had a pair of earring she was giving them.  So we came up with a great solution, we made this purse for her to write in and then put the earrings in!
We made hers slightly different, the 3 squares in the center were left blank for her to put a picture of her and the bridesmaid in the center square and write her thank you note in the top and bottom squares.  She also wrote in her beautiful handwriting the couple's names and the wedding date.  They turned out really beautiful and I hope the bridesmaids appreciate the time and effort she took to make them!

She commented before she left that she should have made one for herself, so I made this one for her to put wedding pictures in and keep as a remembrance!
Congratulations in advance to Madison and Nick!

Layout Challenge Week 9

I had two single pages that were completely unrelated but I wanted it to look ok next to each other in the scrapbook, so I found a layout in the Cherish how-to book called Designer's Eye and went to work!

Instead of cutting all the parts at once I cut the parts for the left page out of the retired Cherry-O and the parts of the right page out of Zippidee. It was a little more complicated than just using one paper pack, but I love the way the pages look good together and yet are still distinctly different.

The Tooth Cute title was days of thinking in the making.  I couldn't decide what to title it but I wanted something fun because Sara is so cute in the pictures!  You can't really see it in the photo but her blue eyes just pop!

I would love to see what you have been up to this week!  Share it below!

Layout challenge Week 8

So I have interesting kids as I am sure you can tell by some of my pictures. I enjoy their silly moments and frequently grab the camera to capture them! Recently one of my friend said my sons would someday hate these pictures, which I believed, just not so soon! Micah, age 6, saw me working on this page and he asked why I took pictures of him in his underwear, which much distress in his voice. I laughed and said because he was so cute, he bought it for now!  We will see how long before he truly hates it!

Post your layout above!

Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge

It is not very often that I go on and on about a product BUT I love the Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge.

There are several reasons why:

1. There are stamps that coordinate with some of the shapes meaning I no longer have to cut around stamps!  Ok I still do sometimes but a lot less and it looks so much better when a machine does the cutting!  These cards are a great example, every shape was cut on the the cricut!

2. I can make cool flowers that are precut for me and I just roll them up and glue them!  Like these!  Looks hard, but really is easy peasy with the cricut!

3.The creativity on my layouts has increased because the cute shapes I have seen around and quicker and easier to make!

4. I can make cute 3 dimensional things too!  Like this tiny treat box I used for a Christmas event!

OK, enough for now!  Do you have the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge? If so, share why you love it!  If not, what are you waiting for get it here or order it directly from me!  Just a little note, if you buy a cartridge and $50 in additional product directly form me, you get $25 in Free select products form Close to My Heart!

For some reason, I got stumped on Footloose when making cards!  I think it was because all the other cards I had seen made with this paper were sea or beach related.

I ended up loving working with the papers and had to think outside the predictable because I had no beach related stamps (something I need to correct).

The stars and the butterfly were cut with the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge, which I LOVE! On the butterfly, I cut the layers apart to create the look of 3 different colors and I used Opaques to make the body!

I love this paper and can't wait to layouts out of it!

Layout challenge Week 7

We had so little rain in 2010 that the rain was a novelty and loads of fun!  The boys had a blast playing in it!  I used a heart punch and trimmed them to make the raindrops!  This is also the first layout I have done with Elemental!  I really like the simplicity of it!

SO let's see what you have!

So Lucy is a very pretty paper and makes great cards!  I used Just Blooms Paradise Paper Flowers, and Pewter Badge buttons and pewter brad on the top card and Just Blooms Flutter Paper shapes and Sparkles Red and Pink and Purple.  I also used the Love Life stamp set.

One of the trends I have seen recently in cards is the blocks of color and I really like it and find it easy to design cards this way!

Crusin' papers are great for travel and lots of other things!  I fussy cut the Happy Birthday and then covered it with Liquid Glass to make it look more like scrabble tiles! I used the Adventure USA Stamp for the sentiment and car and camper!  It also has a stamp of the USA and lots of sights you might travel to!  Milepost Embellishments finished the look with the arrow!

Layout Challenge Week #6

CTMH Typeset paper was a perfect backdrop for my pictures of the boys at preschool story time!  The librarian was fabulous with the kids and they had a great time!  Typeset is still available for the next few months!

Let's see what you created!

FYI:  CTMH recently let consultants know that the How-to books will no longer be in the Idea books after the July 2012.  If you are interested in Cherish, Imagine, Reflections, or Magic layout How-to books or Originals or Wishes Card How-to books, now is the time to get them before they are gone!

I love this paper!  It is so bright and fun! One of the papers looks like a sewing pattern! I used the Just Blooms Paradise Paper Flowers on the top one and Pewter Badge buttons on both of them!

Boy friendly paper!  Awesome!
I used the new baker's twine on the top card too!  The Trinity stamp set was used for the saying and The Best Things was the stamp set used for the flourishes.

I used Durable studs and the stamp set Remarkable Wreath for the saying!

I liked Florentine in the Idea book but, oh my it is much better in person!  I can't wait to play more with it!
On the top card the center of the flower is a Just Blooms Paradise Paper Flower!  The things that look like brads on the bottom are the new Pewter Badge Buttons that are self adhesive, so much easier than brads and less bulky too!!  I also used our scalloped circle punch on both cards!

The New Spring/Summer Idea book is live today!  Check it out today!  Stop by Saturday from 10 until 6 to see the new products and pick up a new Idea Book! Stay and crop or just shop!  Let me know if you are planning to come!

First of all I really like all of the new paper packs, but this might be my favorite!  On the top card I fussy cut the flowers and used the new Square Durable Studs which are self adhesive and much easier to use than brads!
