Layout Challenge Week #48

My daughter really has a sense of rhythm and some moves that she doesn't get from me!  Her moves qualified her for a district wide PE Showcase.  I had a tough time scrapping this because the pictures were so bad, but it was a big deal so I did it anyway.

I did my best to deemphasize the yellow in the pictures by placing them on blue!  I love the fun colors in the retried Zippidee paper that is also great to use for Disney pages!  It is still available on Studio J!  I also cut the paper to emphasize the argyles in the borders!  On each journaling strip I used a leftover star from a project i did this summer with my kids swim team pictures and the Footloose paper!

Anyone who shares a layout with me this week will be entered in a drawing for a paper pack of your choice!

Layout Challenge Week 47

So my challenge was to create a page with dark blue, yellow and orange or any combination of those.  I combined paper packs which is unusual for me!  I used the yellow patterned paper from Veranda and the blue from Serendipity, both of which are retired.  I also used Cranberry and Indian Corn Blue as the base and photo mats.  I found a sheet of Dentist stickers and finished out the layout with a little orange (sort of)!  Love using up my stash!

My sweet boy, Joshua, had a tooth that the enamel didn't form on so they had to do a filling!  He was a champ and went home telling everyone it was no big deal!  I love his sweet attitude about most things!  I took these pictures while we waited!

Studio J Saturday- Fast and easy!

Studio J came out with something new called the Express Collection!  I haven't tried it since I found out about it so I thought I would venture out!  This layout was completely pre made, I literally just dropped the photos in, changed the title and added the journaling.  It took about 5 minutes, ok maybe 10, I am slow at journaling!  This layout is one of the more simple ones!

Check back next week for More Express Collections layouts OR go check them out yourself! Studio J is free and fun!  No charge until you order layouts!  Play all you want!

Let's Scrap- Scrap Your Stash Challenge

Scrap Your Stash #21
4 different patterned papers
3 different colors of cardstock
4 die cuts (use whatever you have or make your own)
12 eyelets, brads or bling

 Scrap Your Stash #22
The requirements for this challenge are (all are at least number.. you can use more than asked for) :
2 different patterned papers
4 different colors of cardstock
1 piece of chipboard
4 flowers
3 eyelets or brads
9 buttons
2 pieces of ribbon
lotsa bling!! Any type of bling you have and want to use.

 Scrap Your Stash #23
2 patterned papers
4 different colors of cardstock
10 eyelets or brads
10 die cuts/stickers - either from your stash or you can cut them with your machines
and some inking too!

So the challenge thing, I might be getting carried away!  I started this one and 3 layouts had to be done by November 30.  The challenge started in September but I just found it!  So I went for it and did all three in one day!

This Let's Scrap Scrap Your Stash Challenge also requires that you use a Let's Scrap Layout.  They have 3 years of layouts with lots of options in picture numbers!  Neat new resource!

I used Twitterpated paper, Stickease and lots of embellishments out of my stash!  I even had all the Cricut Art Philosophy journaling boxes from the first layout cut and just grabbed them from my stash!

Layout Challenge #46- Incognito

I attended a Facebook virtual crop this weekend!  It was fun and encouraged me to crop when I probably wouldn't have!  This page was a sketch challenge on the virtual crop. I went outside the box for me with the paper and had fun!

I am not even sure which two kids this is  I think the one in the silver is Micah!  I really used stash on this page!  The silver is old Creative Memories paper I had and the tiger print I bought for the zoo and never used, the base page, Kraft, and the black are both CTMH!  The two borders are actually the retired Kraft Borders that I inked with our new pigment inks in Autumn Terracotta!  The original sketch had a circles at the bottom but this seemed to scream for triangles!

Share your layout, card or project with me!

Studio J Saturday

I am up to August on my calendars!  Each page will be used for a different calendars!

It is fun to see my kids through the year!

I even added journaling on one of the pictures to be sure everyone knows what was going on!

The border on the left page is Stickease!
I also was able to put the month title wherever I wanted!

Love the flexibility of Studio J!  Can you imagine making 10 pages of August by hand?!

Two Wheelin' Diva

Lora is actually trying to ride her bike without training wheels for the first time!  She is so scared of falling that this was a BIG deal!

This layout was fun to create because I was participating in a virtual crop and the challenge was to use black, white and one other color.  This is not how I usually scrap and it was a challenge to do that!  I am thrilled with how it turned out though!  I might have to try it again sometime, meaning the black, white and one color!!

The colors I used were Cotton Candy, Hollyhock, Black and White Daisy.  The flowers are retired Big Pinks and the centers of the flowers are Opaques Pearl Gems!

I am planning on trying my own virtual crop in January!    Would you join me?  January 1 or January 5?  Leave me a comment!  Let me know!

Layout Challenge #45

My daughter, Sara was chosen out of her class to represent the school in the PE Showcase in 2011.  She got to do and exercise routine to "I Like to Move It" with about a zillion other kids from several schools.  She was amazingly on the beat and incredibly cute!   She was in first grade at the time and loved doing it!  This page is all from when we were waiting to get in and for the program to start!

I used the retired Zippidee paper!  It was a pretty neat layout in that you used very little patterned paper and it had a big impact!  I love the arrow made with the Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge that points out Sara's ponytail!  She could hardly make one and was very excited about it!

How do you highlight important things on your layout?

Share your work below!!

Studio J Saturday

Dreamin' is one of my favorite paper packs, unfortunately it is retired but not in Studio J!

We have a family tradition of making Turkey cookies every year for Thanksgiving!  This year we had friends over that helped with the cookies and celebrated Thanksgiving with us!

It was east to find a layout with 12 photos on it by just selecting that when choosing a layout.  I used the Stickease for the title and the buttons next to the title!
