Studio J - Norman Family

My husband's family really only gets together once every 2 years!  This time I was determined to get a family picture! It was quite the adventure to corral 20 plus people down the street to the park for a photo!  My dad was gracious enough to take the picture and some others were taken along the way!

The only thing I really did on this page was drop the pictures in and add the title and journaling in their appropriate boxes.  I added another title box for the Norman Family title!  I loved that the big family picture was the focus and a few others to go with it!  The Norman family is a little nutty as you can tell from the tree picture on the right!

Studio J - Turkey Cookies

We have had a tradition of making turkey cookies at Thanksgiving and this year we had not done it!  Aunt Dorothy came prepared with a new kind of turkey cookie to make!  My kids and their cousins all gathered around the table and had a blast!  I think there might have been more eating than making though!

Tons of pictures were taken and I didn't want more than one page so...17 pictures on one page!  Crazy right!?  It got the story told and I was able to highlight the pictures that I wanted to in the larger photo wells!  I only added a title and journaling and a little Stickease in the bottom right and I was done!

17 pictures times $0.13 is $2.21 plus tax!  The page itself was only $5 with our special this month!  All my photos were the right size and I zoomed in on some too!  You can't do that with paper pictures with out reprinting them!

Have I mentioned how much I love this tool!  Studio J has made it possible for me to be more up to date with my scrapbooking and spend more time making traditional pages when I feel the need for paper (always)!

Way behind on your scrapbooking?  Storing your pictures on your ever trustly computer?  Get those pictures out there to be seen!  Give Studio J a try!

Studio J

Cousins and Wii makes for lots of fun!  My kids and their cousin are playing the Just Dane Disney here!  It was Thanksgiving and I wanted a fallish paper so I went with Olivia, which is retired!

I didn't have enough pictures for this layout so I deleted a photo well and added Stickease!  It is on the bottom left of the right page!  I added photo mats to brighten it up some and a title and journaling and I was done!

One thing I did a little different is that I changed my font color to Olive to blend better with the page!  I think I need to do one with several different colors!  Love that you can get create and play with things and not mess up your page!  If I don't like it I just undo!

Check out Studio J here!

Studio J - Stickease Fun

The top page is another one that I really just added the pictures.  The main thing I changed was adding mats to most of the pictures, the Stickease sayings on the right and on the journaling box!

This one on the other hand I went to town embellishing!  I got a little crazy for me but it was still quick and easy!  I added the ants on the left side and title.  On the right side, I added the picnic basket, lemonade and ant.  I also changed the journaling box into a picture well and a picture well into a journaling box.  It just made the page flow better.

I played with the colors of the paper a lot on this page to get it so I liked it!  The lovely thing is that there is an undo button so trying something is easy and undoable, unlike with paper!

You can play for free!  There is no charge to try it, to make 5, 10, or 50 layouts and never print them!  You just have to sign up for an account and start creating!  The only time you pay anything is when you print them!  It is normally $6.95 a two page layout but currently until March 15 they are only $5 a two page layout!

Give it a try here!

Studio J - Just Ducky

I really did almost nothing but drop my pictures in and add a title, journaling and the date on this layout!  Easy and quick!  I added a journaling box for the date and changed a photo well into a journaling box for the journaling!  5 minute layout!  When is the last time you did that?

Try it here!

Studio J - Exclusive papers

Did you know that Studio J had papers that CTMH has never printed on paper except in Studio J layouts!?

This paper pack is one of them!  It is a fun paper for birthdays!  I just finished this page just before having another birthday!  I don't enjoy pictures of me but I know my kids would be sad if anything ever happened to me and there was no scrapbooks with me in them!

My daughter, Sara was 7 when she took the pictures I used here!  She is somewhat of a shutterbug like her mama!

Some things I added to the layout were I rotated the left page and added a quote on the top left picture and the title, both from the Stickease!  I also added the presents on the top of the right page!

I am not sure how many exclusive paper packs there are but there are also tons of retired paper packs that are in there too!  So that favorite paper you ran out of or never ordered, it is probably available for you in Studio J!

Studio J - Journaling boxes

I love that I can add journaling boxes wherever I want on a layout!  It was really fun to journal on the stars in this layout and try to get it lined up with the lined paper on the the stars!  I also added a Stickease title and Stickease pile of books and apple!

Rotating the pages is another cool feature of Studio J!  I rotated both pages to make them work better with my photos!

Layouts are on sale for $5 for a 2 page layout until March 15!  Check it out now!

The Everything ABC Blog Hop - Letter D

Welcome to the Everything ABC's Blog Hop!
For this hop we will be featuring the letter D. This may be the name of a paper, a stamp set or an embellishment. Whatever the crafter has chosen as their D element will be featured in their post.
If you have just hopped onto my blog, please start at the beginning at Amber's blog ~ Scrapper's Therapy
If you came from Theodora then you're on the right track!
D is for Disney!
Two summers ago the Close to my Heart convention was at Disneyland! My son is a HUGE Cars fan and spent a lot of time checking out Lightening and Mater. They even had a Disney employee come up and ask if anything was wrong and Joshua said, "Their eyes don't move!" Leave to my Cars boy to notice!
I do 2 different albums for my kids, one for the girls and one for the boys. For these picture I only had enough of the background paper to do one page. The paper is from the retired Giggles and Grins paper pack from quite a while ago.
So I pulled out Cranberry, Black and Yellow ink pads and the retired Hit the Spot stamp set and random stamped the background of the page below to look similar to the original page!
The road was formed from a stretched out S from the Artiste Cricut cartridge it undotted i's for the dashes in the road!
This is the two layouts next to each other! The one on the left is the stamped one and the one on the right is the original paper!

Studio J - Decorating the Tree

My husband had the most incredible tree before we got married and it is his tree that gets put in our front window every year.  The kids are old enough now to appreciate the beauty of the ornaments and enjoy decorating it!  We used to let them put on the non fragile ornaments!

The paper I used was Pear and Partridge that is now retired but still available in Studio J.  The presents, title and partridge banner are all Stickease!  I love that I can resize and use as many letters as I want with no chance of running out of a letter!

By the way this Christmas 2012 that I have finished!  I finished it in January using Studio J even though I an currently starting December 2011 in my traditional scrapping!

I have a crop at my house on Saturday, February 16 from 5 to midnight if you want to try out Studio J or just come crop!

Studio J

I am starting a Studio J Marathon!   I am hoping to post a new layout wach day in the month of February, starting today!  If you haven't tried Studio J now is the time!

Christmas 2012 in the shortened condensed form!  I choose my favorite pictures from the boys at Christmas and put the pages in the boys book.  I also have a Christmas album that has most of the pictures in it!

This layout usually has stitched circles where the snowflakes are.  I used the Stickease snowflake and resized it several times and covered the area with it, almost making it look like patterned paper!  The Christmas tree, title and borders were all Stickease too!  I had a lot of fun changing up this layout and making it mine!  Just imagine what you could do!  Keep it simple or jazz it up!

I tend to use this layout quite a bit but I always try to switch it up so it doesn't look the same!  I changed it this time by adding the snowflakes on the circles and moving the title to the bottom!  Other than that I didn't add much!  By the way I love this paper and it is retired now but always available in Studio J!

The Everything ABC's Blog Hop - Letter C

Welcome to the Everything ABC's Blog Hop!

If you came from Lucy then you're on the right track!

Operation Write Home is an organization that sends Cards to heros! Their Mission is Supporting our nation's armed forces by sending blank handmade greeting Cards to write home on, as well as, "AnyHero" cards of gratitude to encourage them!I decided to support them and have my friends and customers make Cards for the Heros!

I just cut 0.5 by 3.5 inch strips and made them into banners and then alternated each direction. I also stamped Happy Birthday with the new stamp Joyful Birthday!

They are in need of birthday cards right now so I created this for everyone to make! It is from the retired Fanfare paper and a pattern from Pinterest. It is a simple card that can be used for both girls and boys and looks a little patriotic too! I am hoping that the cards are a blessing to the Heros!

Sneak Peek - Surf's Up

 Summertime screams for Surf's Up!
The layout on page 53 of the new Idea Book was my inspiration for this card!  I didn't have the stamp set yet so I improvised with paper and cut the strips with and angle to them!  After assembling the strips and border on the bottom I felt it needed something and decided to add the pop of Lagoon and Crystal Blue!  The stamped sentiment is from the Surf's Up Workshop on the Go and only available with that Workshop!!
Pinterest one again inspired me for this card!  I cut the Dig It! from the paper directly!  The sun is simply a partial circle and skinny strips!

Are you ready!?
The Idea Book is live today on my website!
