Last Album Retreat Layout

So I saved the best for last and the hardest too!  My Happy Place is one of my favorite layout I did at the Fall Album Retreat.
Each circle was already cut for us but you had to adhere each circle to the overlay!  Just a tad bit time consuming!  Beautiful though!
The Artbooking Cartridge was used to cut the circle overlay, heart border, filmstrip, bracket, and heart banner.  The circles too!
The Happy Place was stamped with Framework Alphabet.  The Love This stamp set was used to stamp a floral pattern on the heart borders and bracket. One of the Artbooking stamp sets  and Geometric Backgrounds was used to stamp stars on some of the circles!

One of the reason's it is among my favorites is the filmstrip pictures.  I was able to highlight my favorite pictures but include little pictures that showed more about the event without making 2 or 3 two page layouts!

The Everything ABC's Blog Hop - Letter W

Welcome to the Everything ABC's Blog Hop!

For this hop we will be featuring the letter W. This may be the name of a paper, a stamp set or an embellishment. Whatever the crafter has chosen as their W element will be featured in  their post.

If you have just hopped onto my blog, please start at the beginning at Linda Norman’s blog ~ Scrappy Therapy

If you came from Shelly Nemitz of Just One Piece then you're on the right track!

Can you guess what my W is?

Washi Tape!  Close to My Heart has just come out with some new Washi tape and I had to give it a try!  I had seen this layout where someone used out Shimmer Trim to do a background behind a single photo, so I thought, hmmm, couldn't I do the same thing with Washi Tape!

I just tore off a Strip of the Cotton Candy dot and put it diagonally on the page.  Then I just followed with the Lagoon Houndstooth and the Honey Triangles varying the lengths as I went!

Then I found 2 fun titles on the Cricut Artbooking cartridge and added them! To finish it off I added a few Pink Glitter Gems!  Voila, done in less than 30 minutes!

Check out these other projects I have used Washi tape  and the Artbooking Cartridge on!

Your next stop on our Everything ABC'S blog Hop is Catherine Nowak at Cat Scrapbooking.

Here is the complete lineup in case you get lost along the way :)

Looking for Adventure

Somehow I missed this layout when I started posting my Album Retreat pages.  I have one more after this!

This one is one of my favorites simply because I like the photos!  My Joshua really has pretty much no inhibitions. At an outdoor concert my husband was playing at the Mission San Jose, he got up and was dancing.  He was hilarious, but what I also like is my daughter, Sara, and the full body laugh she had going on!

Ok on to the layout!  We had several things on this layout cut form the Artbooking Cricut cartridge.  The top border was two layers of border, one in lagoon and the bottom one in White Daisy.  The arrow on the right and bottom left, the title, word bubble, camera (top left) , arrow border on the bottom left , the large picture mat and the journaling spot.

We stamped on the Juniper strips of paper with the Geometric Backgrounds stamp.  Some of the other patterned papers came from the Crush books Best Day Ever Assortment, like the top right, bottom left and the square by the three small photos. Also from the Best Day Ever Assortment, is the little letters that say Looking For right above the large photo on the left.

We also used the Base and Bling Word Accents, Baker's Twine, and Color Ready Midtown Cork Shapes! The other patterned pair was from the Proplayer paper pack!

So did the photos make the layout or the layouts enhance the photos?  What do you think?

Trick or Treat- SBC Sketches Challenge

I saw this sketch on SBC Sketches Challenge and couldn't wait to try it with my Halloween pictures!
I used the retired Hooligans paper, Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge, Artbooking Cartridge and Baker's Twine.  The Artbooking Cartridge was used for the title. I used the Cricut Craft Room to weld the letters together in a vertical manner to make the title to work better in the space I had!

The Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge was used to cut the banners out of multiple papers to create the playful line of banners.  I also used our new Stitch Guide to poke the holes in the layout and then stitched with the Baker's Twine!

On this Day

This one was a fun layout to do at the album retreat.  It was fairly easy in comparison to some of the others!

We used several Artbooking cuts like the Pear Overlay, the title, the hearts and the little border up at the top on the right.

We also used the Irresistables Hexagons which are featured on the bottom left and middle right.  We also used washi tape, Shimmer Trim, and My Crush Best Day Ever Assortment. Geometric Backgrounds stamp was used to enhance the green banner and the hearts border.

This was the next to last layout we did!  I actually stopped half the way through it to move on to the last one! I really enjoyed  making this layout!

I had a lot of fun doing this challenge from Let's Scrap.  It used this sketch:
It worked pretty well with my pictures from Halloween 2012 so I took the challenge.  This is what I came up with!

I used the retired Hooligans paper, Artbooking, Artiste, Art Philosophy Cricut cartridges to cut the  the Spooky title, photo mat, skeleton, spider and Eek! title.

You can't really see it but the spider is from out black glitter paper!  Creepy!

Christmas Tags

Little Red Wagon had a challenge this week to make Christmas Tags.  I am not a big tag maker, however they are much more personal than the one from the store and cuter too!  So I pulled out my Christmas stamps and cut a page full of Tags using the Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge.

I was thinking quick and easy but fun!

Above, I used the Santa Claus stamp and Ruby and Topiary inks and ribbon from my unknown stash as is the case with all the ribbon!  Using up stash that is what it is about!
The wreath came from the Merry and Bright stamp set and the sentiment from Scandinavian Wishes, last month's Stamp of the Month.  I also used Ruby and Topiary inks and Red Glitz Glitter Gel.
This one is from Scandinavian Wishes, last month's Stamp of the Month, and I added a little Red Glitz Glitter Gel to the heart.
Again this Santa is from the Santa Claus  set and the sentiment is from the Merry and Bright  set.  Love how cute this is with out adding any bling!

I thought about making a class for tags like this, would you be interested, maybe combined with a gift bag and a couple other Christmas gift things?

Sweet Treats

Southern Girls had the Challenge this week to make something with Sweets in it.  What can be more sweet than Halloween, which I was already working on!
These photos are my kids after Trick or Treating, sorting eating and choosing the candy they want to keep!  They get to keep 10 pieces of candy and the rest goes to a school fundraiser that collects the candy and the school gets up to $500.  The candy is then donated to military personnel overseas or in local military hospitals.
I used a pattern from Make it from the Heart 1 for this layout.  Also, I used the retired Hooligans paper from a couple of years ago, I had a good stash of this paper I liked it so much! Hooligans is still available in Studio J!

The title is cut with the Artbooking Cricut cartridge which I welded together in the Cricut Craft Room.  The pumpkins are from the Artiste cartridge!  I just love the bright colorful paper!

Thanks to all the Veterans out there, former and current!  You are greatly appreciated!

This was a really different layout. it started with an overlay that we attached the photos and papers to, kinda like a frame!  It was pretty quick and easy!

The new technique to me on this page was the hello on the left.  We actually had 4 hellos, 3 Lagoon ones and one White Daisy!  The Lagoon ones we sanded the edges to make the white core show so they added texture to the lagoon background we were putting them on.  We then popped up the White Daisy hello and had a neat look!

We also stamped arrows  on one piece of card stock, making our  own printed paper!
the Washi Tape was put on whit cardstock to make it pop!

We stamped our own piece of faux wash tape and put it at the lop left of the right page.  The banner is also stamped with different colors!

Base and Bling is not just for jewelry or hair the flower from Base and Bling Word Accents we used has a sentiment on it and adhesive which makes it a be exe to add to a page!

Everything ABC Blog Hop - Letter V

Welcome to the Everything ABC's Blog Hop!

For this hop we will be featuring the letter V.  This may be the name
of a paper, a stamp set or an embellishment.  Whatever the crafter has
chosen as their V element will be featured in their post.

My V is the letter V on the Artbooking Cartridge!
As you can see it is all about Halloween!  Guess what I am working on these days!  Halloween pictures  from a year ago! So the letter V fit right in with what I was already doing!

I used the Cricut Craft Room to design my page, just to see how everything fit and cut it easier!  In general everything was cut at 11 inches with the exception of the 4x6 photo frames.  They were 5x7 photo frames that i reduced the size of to fit my photos and on my layout.

The idea behind Artbooking scrapbook pages is that you set your dial size to 11 and cut, everything is set to be proportional to the 12 x 12 inch page!!
Cut at 11 inches:
Overlay in Autumn Terracotta
Spooky House and Cat in Black
Square 4x4 spiderweb frames in Gypsy
Fence in Slate
Moon in Honey

I changed the sizes of
Beware in Autumn Terra Cotta
Rectangle spiderweb frames in Gypsy

The only thing I didn't cut from letter V was the cat which was on letter U, but since I missed that letter in the hop we will let it slide!  LOL!

On cool thing you can do in Cricut Craft Room (CCR) is hide contours.  HUH, you say!  The contours in the Spooky house are all the things cut out within the outline of the castle, like the windows and doors.  I didn't want to fuss cut the light shining through the windows so I used CCR to hide them so they didn't cut out.  What I got was the shape of the House with nothing cut out of the house so I could just slide it behind my black house and I was done!

I added Green Sparkles to the cat's eye and  Black and Clear Sparkles the Bat's eyes to give it a spooky feeling!  Otherwise all I used was Cardstock and Bling and of course the Artbooking Cartridge!

I bet you want one now!  Imagine what you could do! There are 15 predesigned pages and 10 predesigned mini albums and loads of other creative things you can do with it!  To get yours click here!
