Photo Fun!

Skylark is one of my favorite papers in the Spring/Summer Idea Book.  So I have almost no paper left from my paper pack but I had these fun photos left that go with the other pages!  I used an extra sheet of the bulk Skylark paper and leftovers of the paper pack with two sheets of Kraft.
Cheryl Even posts sketches on her blog from time to time and I had pinned this one and it worked great with the number of pictures I had with a few tweaks.
I used zip strips to emphasize things and journal with minimal effort!  The leftover chipboard from the Skylark workshop as the final touch.  Inking the edges of this paper really helps to define the papers!

Let the Magic Begin

Once a year I go to Chicago to spend time with my friend, Dawn scrapbooking.  This is that time and I am working on Disney photos from our trip last summer.

Stuck!?  had this sketch challenge on their blog and it worked perfectly for these photos!
It was fun to try to figure out a border!  I wanted something Disney related and found the Mickey head border on the Mickey and Friends Cricut Cartridge.  I just welded them together in the Cricut Craft room and sized it to be appropriate for the page.

The title was inspired by this page on Pinterest.  I had some mickey head stickers that my kids gave me for my birthday last year that were perfect for the Begin part of the title!

I used the bright colorful Jubilee papers that meet the challenge of a Rainbow of Colors on the little red wagon blog.  It was funny these papers were already picked when I saw this challenge and the Stuck!? challenge and decided to combine them!

This page was fun to do!  It has fun colors and a great subjects, aren't my kids cute!?It is amazing how a simple sketch can turn into your favorite page!  Thanks for the inspiration!

The Everything ABC Blog Hop - Letter F

Welcome to the Everything ABC's Blog Hop!

For this hop we will be featuring the letter F.  This may be the name of a paper, a stamp set or an embellishment.  Whatever  the crafter has chosen as their F element will be featured in their post.

If you have just hopped onto my blog, you are at the beginning!  If you are lost there is a list at the bottom of my post!

F is is for Fancy Folded Card with a Flower! I had a lot of Fun making this card.  I knew I wanted a folded card but had to do a little research to figure out which kind I wanted!  I got the idea here!

Paper Fundamentals Basics Assortment formed the base of the card.  Hollyhock and Ivy Lane papers were used on the inside and for the flower.
The I used the Dotted Love stamp set to add the sentiment on the inside and added the leftover heart from making the flower to add to the Dotted Love stamp to make the heart pop.
This is the card all the way open!

To make the flower I used the heart from the Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge to cut 11 hearts using the Cricut Craft Room with this file.  I folded each heart in half slightly off center to show both sides of the paper.  Each heart I glued to a 1.5 inch circle and then put a discontinued Base and Bling metal flower in the center.

I also entered this in the Southern Girls Challenge- Floral Frenzy!

For other Ivy Lane projects go here or Paper Fundamentals go here.

I am using my stash!  I bought these letters about 6 years ago and have never used them.  When I pulled out these pictures and the pay print paper I realized I could really put anything with the paper so I decided to use some of these letters!  It was a super easy layout once I figured out how to cut the chevrons!
The chevrons are a photo corner on the Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge!  I used Cricut Craft Room to size them to fit perfectly on the page and just cut 2 sets!  Stick everything on and I have a page for the boys and girls' books!

Do you have old sticker letters or die cut letters hanging around?  How could you use them today?

Reflections Art Contest

My sweet sassy Sara took pictures on our vacation two years ago to Niagara Falls.  She entered one of them in an art contest at school and was recognized for her entry!  I love colorful paper and this was colorful and school related from my stash!  I fussy cut the hexagons so make a path across the page and matted the pictures!  Page done!  It didn't really need a title because it is on the sign behind her.  Though this wasn't CTMH paper I had no trouble finding card stock of ours to coordinate with it!  I love quick easy pages as much as I enjoy the more detailed pages!

Laughing Lola Birthday

My parents and my boys were gone when the girls had their birthday party so we had a post birthday party where the girls opened presents from their grandparents.  I used the Make it From the Heart 2 how to book to create this layout #4 on page 7, it was also used on the Workshop on the Go for Laughing Lola but I was trying to make it a little less girly since I was putting it in my boys' book.

The Sara and Lora was cut from the Artbooking Cricut Cartridge alphabet which was welded in the Cricut Craft Room.  The Happy Birthday came from the Artiste Cricut Cartridge.  I added some black buttons from the Mini-Medley Accents Black Collection.

Did you know that in April if you join Close to My Heart as a consultant you will not only receive the fabulous consultant kit but you will also receive your choice of one of the three Cricut cartridges!  The Cartridges are limited to what CMTH has on hand so join on April 1, NO JOKE!

The cost of joining is $99 plus $15 shipping which means you are getting about $400 in product (listed here) and supplies for $99!  AND to top it off you earn your STTT levels ($1200 in sales in 3 months) and you get your $99 back! To join my team go HERE!

10 Things Layout Revisited

In October of 2013, I went to the Close to My Heart Album Retreat which focused on the Cricut Artbooking Cartridge.  This is one of the layouts we made all the details are on the post about the 10 Things layout.   All of the shapes were cut with the Artbooking Cartridge. !
This layout encompassed our entire vacation last summer!   I liked this layout but wanted to recreate it with a few variations, the main one being the bottom row of pictures not being so small!  Rather than 1.5 inch pictures I used 2 in pictures.  Because the pictures are bigger so I only put 3 on the left page and two on the right page.
I also didn't wrap the hearts with baker's twine or use the pins through it.  The arrow stamping had to go below the photos on the left because of the larger photos.

I did spray the base pages with Slate Reinker with our spray pens while the bases were covered with an overlay cut with the Artbooking Cricut Cartridge.  It adds a bit more texture to the layouts.  It also satisfies the Challenge  #6 on The Scrap Our Stash Blog.
Imagine the possibilities you have with all the overlays on the Artbooking Cartridge!  To see them go here and then to page 7!

Father's Day with Ivy Lane

I have been very busy and pretty stressed with Spring Break and all my kids home and a little traveling thrown in there.  Two nights ago I was inspired by 3 challenges to make a page!  I love the stress relief I feel from creating!  A few minutes of creating and it puts everything right!

The layout I used was inspired by the Grand Diva's Creative Corner sketch challenge!  I obviously changed it up some! Ivy Lane and the Paper Fundamentals Basic Assortment to create the layout. The colors from the color challenge on Creating With Paper and More inspired the paper choice!

The banners for the title was inspired by the Scrap Your Stash banner challenge and the Southern Girls Challenge.  I used the Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge to design and cut the banners and letters in the Cricut Craft Room.  I used the background and texture paper for the banners and cut the letters out of the banners and backed the banners with the Ivy Lane Purple cardstock.

I created the Day part of the title with the Cricut Craft Room by welding the letters together and then creating an oval that fit around but touching enough to look like it was intended to be there and then welded that!  I have grown to really love the Cricut Craft Room and the capability of changing and creating my own designs to suit my pages and cards!

As a final touch I used the retired Mocha Opaques in between each banner piece.

I hope you have enjoyed my creation as much as I enjoyed creating it!  To see other projects with Ivy Lane go here and to see more with Paper Fundamentals go here!

The Everything ABC Blog Hop - Letter E

Welcome to the Everything ABC's Blog Hop!

For this hop we will be featuring the letter E.  This may be the name of a paper, a stamp set or an embellishment.  Whatever  the crafter has chosen as their E element will be featured in their post.

If you have just hopped onto my blog, you are at the beginning!

I went back and forth a lot on this one!  Embossing, envelopes, elephants, eh…I ended up with Enamel!  White Marquee Enamel Shapes to be exact!  They are these cute, shiny white shapes that are self adhesive and totally fun!

The Jubilee papers seemed perfect for this embellishment.  The  White Marquee Enamel Shapes just accented the bright colors in the Jubilee papers.  I just stuck the shapes on the papers and used my Non-stick Micro-Tip Scissors to trim away the excess!  It was much easier than I expected!
I used the stamp set Banner Wishes.  I really like this stamp set because it has so many options of sentiments and only costs $10!
