Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #287

I had a lot of fun with the sketch from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #287 this week!  Trying to not do the obvious circles I thought Halloween/Fall and pumpkins.

Then I got out Close to My Heart's new Hello Pumpkin paper and went to town!  Using my Cricut Explore and Design Space with the Close To My Heart You are Here cartridge, I cut the same pumpkin three times in three sizes with three different patterned papers! You can checkout the You are Here images here!

The only think really Halloweeny about it is the strip of jack-o-lantern paper.  What would you do with this sketch!?  We would love for you to join us at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge and show us your interpretation of this sketch or a future one!

The Stamp of the Month for September is going away in 5 days!  You don't want to miss this one!    It is a versatile set and can serve many purposes!

I used it to make a friendship/thank you card with the new Boutique papers!  The background is nice subtle pattern!  The colors are so soothing!

I created this card using the Atlantic Hearts Sketch for Challenge #283! We would love to see your interpretation of the sketch or the following sketches! Please join us at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge! I look forward to seeing your creations!

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #279

I love changing the card sketches to layouts!  To me it shows that you can get ideas from anywhere!
The only big change I made to the sketch was to add the base color, Peacock, to make it square rather than rectangle! Just a side note, there are 10 colors from Close to My Heart retiring this Friday and the cardstock packs are changing size and price!

A retired paper pack, Swan Lake, seemed to work well for my photo and this layout used up almost all the leftovers from that paper pack and the Love, Heart and We are Family were from the same paper pack's complements!

The picture is one of my favorites from our Disneyland trip!  It is my niece, Casey, and all 4 of our kids hugging her goodbye!  Casey was sweet enough to fly out from Florida to help my husband with the kids at Disneyland while I went to the Close to My Heart convention.

Join us at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge to challenge yourself with Sketch #279 or future sketch!  We look forward to seeing your projects!

Lots of things are retiring Friday, August 31!  Here is a link to check out what is going away!

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #277

This card was super simple to make!  Grabbing my sample pack of papers from the current Seasonal Expressions 2 (which is ending this MONTH and is while supplies last).

I just picked three papers I felt went well together, that all happened to be from the Documented paper pack and cut them in varying lengths an angled the end.

Because I was in a bit of a hurry I looked through the rest of my paper samples and found a banner on one of the Picture My Life cards from Central Park paper pack and trimmed it out to be my sentiment! Viola!  a finished card in 5 minutes!  Digging in my stash of bling I found Epoxy Bubbles that are retired and put the finishing touch on!  I love that is a somewhat masculine card too!

Atlantic Hearts Sketch #275

I used leftovers from Fresh Air paper pack to create this card, this paper pack is available until the end of August while supplies last.  It is actually one of my favorites from the Close to My Heart Seasonal catalog this time!

To make the card I cut two rectangles the size of my base and then cut then diagonally both directions.  This left me with 4 triangles from each paper!  I actually have another card started but my crazy four children and high school band life kept me from finishing it.

The Sentiment in the middle is from a Picture My Life Card included in the Documented paper pack which is also available until the end of August while supplies last.

The sequins are retired from a couple of years ago!  Using my stash!  Join us at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge and show us your interpretation of Sketch #275 or a future sketch!  It is a great way to challenge yourself to do something different or to help use your stash and maybe bless someone with a handmade card!

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #273

I am in Chicago Midway airport waiting for my delayed plane, sigh, I thought I would get my card I made today up!  My plan was to have it done before I left for the beach and then a 5 day scrap retreat, well that didn't happen!
I felt I did pretty good for just looking in my retreat stash for supplies.  Can you guess what trip I am scrapbooking!?

The Magical kit from Close to My Heart was what I was working with on pages and I had no appropriate stamps for a card with me.  I found a Picture My Life style card and cut out the Wish Upon A Star.  The paper was all scraps and I used Crystal Blue (retiring cardstock) to make the base.

For a little bling I added sparkles to the fireworks above the castle.  After I finished, I was thinking I will use this on a scrapbook page as an embellishment!  Do you make your own embellishments?

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #271

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #271 inspired this layout.

My son is hold a friends 3 day old baby!  He was so excited!

I used so very retired Dotty paper from Close to My Heart for this layout!  I love to use my stash!

The banner was cut on my Cricut in Design space so I could create my layout and see how big I wanted the banner!  The banner is from the Flower Market cartridge by Close to My Heart.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #269

I decided to change the sketch into a scrapbook page this week!  The Pacifica (blue paper) part represents the sketch and I added the scrapbook page base in Lemon!  The patterned paper is from the Central Park Paper packet.

The book cut on the Cricut is to replace the tag!

The cute Super Dad with a Cape was also cut on the Cricut!  The cape came from our exclusive to Close to My Heart Artfully Sent Cartridge.  I used the contour button to remove the cape from the card and use it on Super Dad.

I love the fun way to include the date and occasion by writing it on the cape!

Here is Sketch #269 so you can see my inspiration!  We would love to see your project inspired by this sketch when you join us at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge!

The Atlantic Hearts sketch for this week is...

My interpretation!
I used the Central Park Paper from Close to My Heart and an old star punch!

To add some interest I used the Thin 3-D tape to pop up the banner and stars.  The awesome thing is that it is still thin enough to mail without a problem!  Can't wait for someone special to get this card!

This was so quick and simple so I added a fun sentiment on the inside from the CTMH Artistry Cricut Cartridge!

What will you create this week!? Join us anytime at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge for inspiration!

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #265

Long time since I have participated in the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge!  I am excited that my life has settled a little and I can jump back in!

I used the Adventure Fundamentals for the background of this card and a bit of twine and stamped the roses using the Beautiful You stamp set and Thin Cuts!

The Beautiful You stamp set intimidated me at first but I found if I put all the stamp on the blocks as they are on the carrier sheet and keep the orientation it is easy to stamp all three layers!  I used Lemon ink and second generation Saffron ink for the roses and Sweet Leaf for the leaves.

Thin cuts made it so easy to cut and stamp with NO fussy cutting!  In fact these were already cut and in the envelope from a previous project so I just slipped them out and used them!

I hope you join us at Atlantic Heart Sketch Challenge and share your interpretation of the sketch!
