Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #333

The Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge  this week made me want to think outside the box and do a scrapbook page!  So I pulled out my scraps from the Hawthorne Scrapbooking Workshop Kit  and some Saffron, Julep (the Color of the Year for CTMH) and Paprika ( a new color!) and the NEW fabulous Layered Leaves Thin Cuts and went to work!

The Layered Leaves are cut from the Hawthorne papers and a couple of cardstock that coordinate!  They make the prettiest leaves!  I guess since we don't have fall leaves here I have to get them some way
To add a finishing touch I used the Julep shimmer brush (if you haven't tried these you NEED to) on the plaid leaf-see the shimmer?   Our shimmer brushes come in 9 different colors- a great one to start with is the Clear Shimmer Brush.  Plus the Julep Sequins we a great final touch!  Join us at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge this week or any week and share your interpretation of the sketch!

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #331

It has been a while but I am back for a bit with Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge as sort of a substitute design team member.

This sketch was super easy for me because I just pulled out my sample papers for the True Love paper pack and a few sequins for some bling! I picked the papers
that I thought would work and it came together really quickly!

I also used the Stamp of the Month - From Me to You for August.  This stamp has amazing sentiments for cards, scrapbook pages and mini albums and MORE, in a few days so get it now! Before it is gone!

For the inside sentiment I used a retired stamp set called Stonger Together.

The card is for my niece who is the mother of 5 and was recently was diagnosed with breast cancer after giving birth to twin girls.  She is doing well but I wanted to send a note saying we are praying for her and encouraging her.

We look forward to seeing your interpretation of the sketch this week or any week at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge!

April Stamp of the Month - Love So Sweet

The April Stamp of the Month Love So Sweet is the easiest stamp set to love!  It great sentiments beautiful flowers and butterflies that make it incredibly versatile!

The Close to My Heart Art Department made these beautiful cards so I wanted to make a scrapbook page!

My upline, Naomi, issued a challenge to use at least 2 product from the clearance section with current products so I decided to take the challenge and this is the page I created!

The clearance products I used were the Reflections How To Book (Layout 4b and $6.75), Simple Chevron Embossing Folder ($2.75) and Fern Thicker Twine ($1.50).
From the Stamp of the Month, I used the You're my Favorite, I so totally Love you, two flowers, leaves and the little butterfly.

Erin's Hand is the stamp set I used to stamp the Aunt!  It is a fun playful alphabet that has Caps and Lowercase and some fun shapes too!

The Inks and cardstock used were Fern, Sapphire, Pixie, Raspberry, and Goldrush.  The patterned paper is from the Mix-in paper pack. The circle was cut on my Cricut with the Artiste Cricut Cartridge. The final touch which you can't see in the photos was Clear Shimmer Brush on the flowers and butterflies!

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #301

This is my last entry in the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge as a member of a design team at AHSC, at least for now.

I Heart Us paper pack by Close to My Heart in the new catalog. It has such fun colors and is so happy that I couldn't resist creating with it!  The focal point of the circle with a heart and the flowers below it are all from the new cut apart sheets that come in the paper packs. The cut apart sheets replace the Picture My Life cards we used to have!  The give you tons of options for embellishment BUT if you don't want to use them you can use the patterned paper on the back!

The sentiment is from the versatile Stamp of the Month- Card Captions that is ONLY available for a few more days!  It is gone when January is gone!

I used the Bluebird ink that is fairly new for the sentiment.

Come join us at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge and share you interpretation of Sketch #301 or join us for a future sketch!

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #297

Close to My Heart just launched a new catalog on January 1!  It is filled with incredible things that you can check out here!

This card is made with the NEW paper pack called Feels Like Home, which is stunning and perfect for so many occasions like weddings, baby girl, even masculine projects using the greys, wood-like and geometric patterns.

Using this fabulous paper and the new Years of Sweetness stamp set I created this card to use in the current Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #297.    I used Charcoal ink the sentiment and the Artbooking Cartridge to cut the frame for the sentiment.  Close to My Heart included the # to look up the coordinating shape on the stamp set in Design Space so I am not searching through 100's of images looking for it!  This image happens to been pg.87 of the booklet and is #M473B9 in Design space.  It also tells you on the stamp set what size to cut it, 2 1/2 inches to perfectly fit the sentiment inside the frame.

Inside the card I used the celebrate sentiment from Years of Sweetness and then stamped the little flowers from the Stamp of the Month for January called Card Captions and colored them with Lilac ink and a clear shimmer pen to add a little sparkle!  The last bit of sparkle I added to the front of the card is Silver Glitter Gems- it was dark and gloomy the day I took pictures so the photo doesn't do them justice.

We would love for you to join us at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge and share your interpretation of the current challenge or future ones!
