Toothless Wonders

Another paper pack that I am getting to the bottom of the retired Victory paper!  These pictures of my boys about a year ago and I did something I rarely do, I combined pictures from a couple of dates because they are all about losing teeth, two different boys too!

Do we always have to scrapbook chronologically?  The answer to that is definitely not!  I try to but that is just my nature, I know several ladies that just scrapbook what they want when they want and their scrapbooks have no specific rhyme or reason to them!

I had fun with the randomness of the placement of pictures and the circles!  Not all my pictures are the same size or shape and the circles add an element of playfulness to the page which has my playful boys on it!

I do have some books for vacations and Christmas and such but I am mostly an in order kind of girl!  My scrapbooks are even in order on the shelves!

How do you scrapbook? Random?  Chronological? Theme based?

What to do?

So many of you know I am working my way through my albums completing them as my challenge to myself this year (I don't do resolutions). I came to one particular album and had a gap in the middle of the album.  What to do?

First I went to the photos from that year and looked to see if I had missed any.  No such luck, however the gap was at the break between two years so I decided to create a page that was a celebration of the new year.

I pulled out the Artbooking cartridge and thought overlay.  I couldn't find one I liked for what I was wanting so I decided to use a photo mat on page 65.

If you set the dial at 11 the photo mat would have cut for a 4x4 photo and I wanted to cover the whole sheet of cardstock just like an overlay.  I used the real dial size and the size set to 11 inches and voila a new overlay!
I also cut the title from the Artbooking and the firecracker out of our glitter paper!.

I was really happy with how this turned out and it was a great transition to the new year in my scrapbook!

On Scrap It Girl they had a challenge to make a page about a new years resolution or use  sparkly stars so I thought I would enter this since it is a result of my "resolution" and has sparkly stars.

Child's Play also had a glitter challenge so I entered it also!

Using your Stash- Thank You Edition

My best friend's husband passed away last week after a battle with ALS.  I wanted to do something for her since I couldn't help in a lot of other ways.  So I pulled out the old paper Veranda.  I had a lot of scraps left and it is a beautiful elegant paper which would make great thank you notes!
I ended up making about 30 cards from this paper pack and 20 more from another beautiful paper pack.  How could you bless someone with your scraps?

I also found this challenge that was for clean and simple cards.  I think mine are clean and simple so I thought I would share them with little red wagon too!

The Everything ABC Blog Hop- Letter B

Welcome to the Everything ABC's Blog Hop!

For this hop we will be featuring the letter B.  This may be the name of a paper, a stamp set or an embellishment.  Whatever  the crafter has chosen as their B element will be featured in their post.

If you have just hopped onto my blog, you are at the beginning!

For my letter B today, I chose Balloon Ride!  It is a new paper that is coming up in the new CMTH Idea Book that is due to go live on February 1.
I got the idea for this card from Susan Gardner-Williams so I have to give her credit!  The balloons are cut from the Artiste Cartridge on page 70.  I cut them at 4 inches.   I used the patterned paper on the insides and just scored it down the middle and adhered them together!  The fun thing too is Close to My Heart came out with a video about this too!

The edges of my cardstock is sanded to give it a distressed look and the the stripe is one of our new wash tapes adhered onto white paper to emphasize the color.  I the Happiness Lives Here sentiment is from the Love Life stamp.

The one other sneak peek on this is the new Baker's Twine Neutral Metallic Assortment.  You can't see it very well with the photography but there is a metallic thread running through those balloon strings!

I hope you enjoyed the sneak peek and the rest of the blog hop!  I also entered this in the Southern Girls Challenge to use something new.  Check back later for more sneak peeks!

Shiverin' Norman

Yep, that is my cute husband who is layered under two blankets and a wilt with another quilt wrapped around his head.  No, we were not camping this is in our bedroom with the heat set at 70 degrees!  I married into a family that is always cold and call themselves the Shiverin' Normans!  I personally do not have this issue!

On to the layout!  I used a shape cut on the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge for the Cranberry shapes, It is cut into 2 pieces!  The icicles are actually grass from the Artiste Cartridge but I stretched it in the Cricut Craft Room (CCR) to make it look more like icicles!  The title is cut from, you guessed it another CTMH Cricut cartridge the Artbooking Cartridge!  I love this alphabet because it is sooo easy to weld in CCR!

I added a little bling in the center of the snowflakes with our sparkles, I also snuck a little in the title for the dots on my i's!  The 4 Crafty Chicks challenge this week was to use bling so I entered this in their challenge too!  Love me some bling!  I don't use it often enough!

Are you getting interested in what Cricut Craft Room can do for you?

I am going to be teaching a class or two on this if there is enough interest!  Let me know if you might like to learn more about it or sign up for the class!

Lovin' Legos Birthday Party!

My kid's were invited to a Lego Birthday party of a good friend and the pictures were fun and brightly colored!  I had some Lego paper left from doing out trip to Legoland.  The CTMH paper colors Cranberry, Moosnstruck(retired), Topiary and Honey are great Lego colors and coordinated perfectly with the paper I had left!  I bet if you had the right embossing folder (hint, hint) you could make our paper look like Lego paper!  Keep an eye out for something that might work to do that in our next CTMH Idea Book coming out in February!
How can you see the new products?  Attend the Idea Book Kick off on February 15 from 10 to 4:30!  You have a chance to win free hostess rewards if there are enough orders to reach $150.  There will be a free make and take and prizes for everyone and a special gift for anyone who brings a friend who is new to me!  You can stop in and see the new stuff and go or shop and then crop!  Let me know if you want to join me on Feb. 15!
The fabulous thing about our paper is usually you can find cardstock to match any paper even if it  is not ours!

Using your Stash!

So I saw this page on Pinterest and loved it! It was from Stacey Cohen's blog! I have a hard time though putting just two small pictures on a page.  The two picture I put on here were all I had from that occasion and Icould trim them down small to work perfectly!  I wanted a fun paper that had orange in it and our retired You Rock paper was just what I needed! I dug deep for the stickers that became the title and the bright blue was actually some paper I bought from Creative Memories!

Figuring out the angles was a little interesting but I just made the first row and made it work from there!  If you notice I used very little patterned paper.  I chose this paper and I am down to the bottom of the barrel on it!  You can do three things at that point,  make cards, toss it or find fun ways to incorporate it into layouts just using small pieces, maybe even combining paper packs!

How do you use your stash!?  Or do you just collect?  I want to challenge you to use old papers and embellishments on a layout or card with nothing new!  Can you do it?  Email me a picture and I will add it to this post!

One year ago...

On New Year's Eve a year ago, my son broke his arm at a bouncy house place.  Beware it is evidently more common than you would think!  Anyway, these are the pictures of him getting his cast off!

I used some retired Orange and some stash paper from ages ago and the retired Chocolate Alphabet!  I also used White Daisy and Honey paper,  and the Chalkboard Shapes.  The bone is from the Mickey Mouse Font cartridge and was left form the page I made when he was getting his cast on!
For a couple of years now I have been trying to use my stash and love pages like this where nothing is new!  Are you using your stash?  Can you make a page that is all from your stash?
I love stamping simple titles like this too!  I intentionally made it crooked and fun looking!
My journaling is stuck in next to the picture as well as on the Chalkboard Shape!

The Everything ABC Blog Hop - Letter A

Welcome to the Everything ABC's Blog Hop!

For this hop we will be featuring the letter A.  This may be the name of a paper, a stamp set or an embellishment.  Whatever  the crafter has chosen as their A element will be featured in their post.

If you have just hopped onto my blog, you are at the beginning!

Accordion is the word I chose for letter A!

The right page looks a little odd because my page is already in the protector because I used the 4 x 6 Flip Flaps!  Rather than just stacking them like I usually do I did an accordion fold!  I did this because there is a progression to my pictures and it would be easier to see the progression all in a row!  I also just wanted to do something a little different from the normal!
The top photo is the Flip Flaps open to the right and the bottom is open to the left.
I used Outdoor Denim for the base pages and Cranberry for the fun shape I cut on the Cricut with Art Philosophy! I used Artiste Cricut Cartridge for the title! The yellow is a retired paper from Close to my Heart that I found when organizing recently and I am using that stash rather than collecting it!! To use more stash I found a border from the Zippidee (available still in Studio J) paper pack embellishments and used it down the right side of the page!

Sometimes simple is better and this simple page is full of pictures and fun!

By the way Flip Flaps come in many shapes and sizes, one for every need!  Check out some more Flip Flaps here!
